I wanted to get stuck in with some initial thoughts I had for possible ways to take the cover design. I want to involve handcrafted type throughout the design, perhaps as recipe headings on each page, so I wanted the crafty feel to start on the cover. It's a free family cookbook that has past down many generations, so I wanted it to have a traditional but playful feel.
Here are some examples I made using flour, icing and even chocolate sauce, but because the Be-Ro brand is traditionally a flour making company, I think developing the flour type will be a much more relevant and stronger concept if I am to use this type of idea.
